چکیده
The gap anisotropy in Bi 2 Sr 2 CaCu 2 O 8+δ is revisited in the framework of a d-wave scenario in view of the recent angle-resolved photoemission experiment. Based on a tight-binding fit to the normal state dispersion, a detail analysis on the effects of the inclusion of the next harmonic in the d-wave has been presented. Significant effect has been observed in the superconducting T c. The density of states is linear at the nodes with enhanced weight, caused by a marked increase in the low energy excitaions which affect the thermodynamics considerably. The slope of the ρ s − T curve in the low temperature regime increases and the specific heat reflects the enhanced entropy at low temperatures. The leading edge of the ARPES energy distribution curves have been calculated and found to shift towards higher energy. The effect of scattering by non-magnetic impurities in this context are also outlined.

Bilayer splitting in the electronic structure of heavily overdoped Bi(2)Sr(2)CaCu(2)O(8+delta).
The electronic structure of heavily overdoped Bi(2)Sr(2)CaCu(2)O(8+delta) is investigated by angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy. The long-sought bilayer band splitting in this two-plane system is observed in both normal and superconducting states, which qualitatively agrees with the bilayer Hubbard model calculations. The maximum bilayer energy splitting is about 88 meV for the normal st...

We use angle-resolved photoemission with circularly polarized excitation to demonstrate that in the 5 x 1 superstructure-free (Pb,Bi)(2)Sr(2)CaCu(2)O(8+delta) (Pb-Bi2212) material there are no signatures of time-reversal symmetry breaking in the sense of the criteria developed earlier [Nature (London) 416, 610 (2002)]]. The dichroic signal retains reflection antisymmetry as a function of temper...
متن کاملA pr 1 99 4 Temperature dependence of the superconducting gap anisotropy in Bi
We present the first detailed data of the momentum-resolved, temperature dependence of the superconducting gap of Bi 2 Sr 2 Ca 1 Cu 2 O 8+x , complemented by similar data on the intensity of the photoemission superconducting conden-sate spectral area. The gap anisotropy between the Γ− ¯ M and Γ−X directions increases markedly with increasing temperature, contrary to what happens for conventiona...

We studied the optical conductivity of electron doped Pr1−xCexCuO4 from the underdoped to the overdoped regime. The observation of low to high frequency spectral weight transfer reveals the presence of a gap, except in the overdoped regime. A Drude peak at all temperatures shows the partial nature of this gap. The close proximity of the doping at which the gap vanishes to the antiferro-magnetic...
متن کاملCoherent quasiparticle weight and its connection to high-T(c) superconductivity from angle-resolved photoemission.
We study the doping and temperature dependence of the single-particle coherent weight, z(A), for high- T(c) superconductors Bi(2)Sr(2)CaCu(2)O(8+x) using angle-resolved photoemission. We find that at low temperatures the coherent weight z(A) at (pi,0) is proportional to the carrier concentration x and that the temperature dependence of z(A) is similar to that of the c-axis superfluid density. W...
